Vero POS is an offline-first point-of-sale app. Your business data — sales, customers, products, and backups — is stored on your own device. We do not run it through our servers, we do not sell it, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
1. Who we are
Vero POS (the "App") is developed and published by Byten Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data the App handles, where it is stored, and your choices. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@veropos.co.
2. Our core principle
The App is built to work fully offline. The records you create while running your business (items, prices, sales/invoices, customers, suppliers, payments, and reports) are written to a local database on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party as part of normal use.
3. What data the App handles, and where it stays

4. Device permissions we request, and why

The App does not request "All files access" and does not read your personal files. Backups are written using the system's scoped storage and an optional folder you explicitly choose.
5. The only data that leaves your device
The single network feature required for normal use is licence activation and validation. To confirm your licence, the App sends a device identifier and your activation/licence key to our licensing service. We use this only to manage licences and prevent misuse. We do not use it to track you and we do not build advertising profiles.
If you choose to share a receipt (for example via WhatsApp), that action is initiated by you and the receipt is handed to the app you select; that third-party app's own privacy policy then applies.
6. What we do not do
- We do not include advertising SDKs.
- We do not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not upload your sales or customer records to our servers as part of normal use.
(Optional cloud backup/sync is not enabled by default. If it is ever offered and you turn it on, we will update this policy and describe exactly what is synced before you opt in.)
7. Data retention and deletion
Because your business data lives on your device, you control it. You can delete records in the App, remove backups you created, and uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the App's private data; backups you saved to shared storage or an external folder remain until you delete them. Licence records associated with your key are retained by our licensing service for the duration of the licence and as required for our legitimate business and legal purposes.
8. Security
Access to the App is protected by a PIN (stored only as a SHA-256 hash) and, optionally, your device biometrics. Sensitive payment-card numbers are not stored by the App. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we apply reasonable measures appropriate to a local-first application.
9. Children
Vero POS is a business tool intended for use by merchants and their staff. It is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the UAE and Saudi Arabia), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to ask us about how it is processed. Most of your data is on your device and under your direct control; for licence data held by us, contact us using the details below.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or through the store listing.
